Summary:

The Yankees enter the game ranked 2nd in runs per game (5.60) and 6th in team earned run average (3.92).  The Red Sox rank 8th in runs per game (4.96) and 4th in team ERA (3.80).  The Red Sox are (6-4) in their last ten games while the Yankees limped into the break going just (3-7).  Yankees slugger Aaron Judge (.331, 26 HR, 65 RBI) is the leading candidate for American League MVP.  Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts (.279, 15 HR, 51 RBI, 15 SB) deserves consideration as well.  Boston closer Craig Kimbrel leads the American League with 23 saves.  New York has dominated against Boston this season going (4-1) outscoring them 27-7.

The Red Sox are (25-14) at Fenway Park this season whereas the Yankees are (19-24) on the road.  Boston starter David Price (4-2, 3.91) has battled injuries and inconsistency in the early going.  The Yankees have dominated against Price hitting a combined .333 off him in 267 at-bats.  Gary Sanchez in particular has owned Price hitting .571 off him with four home runs.  I expect this to be a high scoring game with two of the top ten offenses in baseball going head to head.  With the recent struggles of Dellin Betances, I give the edge to the Red Sox bullpen in the late innings.
